Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in social media marketing, with clear progression from executional to strategic roles
  • Background in fashion, lifestyle, media, or consumer brands
  • Proven ability to balance strategy with execution: comfortable both building the plan and creating the content
  • Experience launching new products or brands
  • Experience launching new social channels from scratch
  • Deep platform expertise (Instagram, TikTok, X) and understanding of how to build an authentic presence on each
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Tech experience (apps or wearables) is a plus but not required
  • Experience at small-to-mid-sized companies, showing ability to thrive with autonomy and ambiguity
  • Background in brands with strong points of view and elevated aesthetics
  • Basic content creation skills; experience with motion/video is a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of the creator economy

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Sesame’s social strategy, balancing product and brand storytelling
  • Stand up and launch Sesame's social channels (Instagram, TikTok, X) - prioritizing content and channels based on the strategy
  • Define and maintain Sesame's brand voice across all social platforms
  • Build the foundation for social as a key brand-building and community channel, not just a performance marketing lever
  • Partner with agencies or in-house creative to build compelling social content - from concept to final execution - that showcases products in an elevated, authentic way
  • Maintain channel hygiene and content, doing own execution for day-to-day needs (static images, stories, quick posts)
  • Be a voice for brand consistency and voice/tone in everything done on all social platforms
  • Balance strategic planning with nimble, reactive content that captures organic, cultural moments where the brand can be part of the conversation
  • Lead brand activations and organic campaigns that build awareness and cultural relevance
  • Design influencer strategy and social collaborations that ladder up to brand positioning
  • Engage with and grow community authentically
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure social amplifies the full Sesame story
  • Establish processes, workflows, and content calendars that can scale as the marketing team grows
  • Define success metrics for brand-building social
