Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. They should have at least 15 years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 13+ years of experience, or a PhD with 10+ years of experience in CPU architecture and development. Strong knowledge of CPU architectures, instruction sets (such as x86, ARM, RISC-V), and microarchitecture design principles is required, along with proven experience in microarchitecture modeling, simulation, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

The CPU Architect will perform CPU microarchitecture modeling and simulations to evaluate performance, power, and area, ensuring design robustness. They will lead and participate in the design of key CPU components, including instruction pipelines, branch prediction, execution units, and memory subsystems. The role involves identifying, debugging, and resolving architectural and microarchitectural bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new tools and methodologies, and contributing to the CPU roadmap by identifying new techniques, features, and optimizations. Collaboration with the SOC team to align CPU microarchitecture requirements with broader organizational objectives is also a key responsibility.
