Requirements

  • Develop and grow relationships with key decision-makers across major cities (New York City DoITT and agencies, Boston, Philadelphia), state capitols (Boston MA, Albany NY, Trenton NJ, Harrisburg PA), and education (large research universities and K-12 districts)
  • Align security and identity solutions with regional priorities, including digital transformation (e.g., NY Governor's Innovation Agenda, Empire AI), "Whole of State" cybersecurity, and secure citizen access to services
  • Master distinct procurement cycles, funding mechanisms, and cooperative purchasing agreements (e.g., NY OGS, MA CommBUYS, NASPO ValuePoint)
  • Proactively identify and qualify net-new opportunities in the competitive SLED market
  • Maintain active presence across major hubs (Boston, NYC, Philly, Albany) with frequent travel
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue and gross profit quotas
  • Deep success in navigating and closing deals using state/local cooperative contracts (e.g., NASPO ValuePoint), state-specific vehicles (e.g., NY OGS, MA CommBUYS), and RFP/RFQ processes
  • Proficient in identifying and leveraging SLED funding streams (state appropriations, federal grants like SLTT Cybersecurity Grants, capital budgets)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-state public sector accounts, adapting to legislative/budget cycles and governance in Northeast states (MA, NY, PA, NJ)
  • Experience selling to education market, understanding needs of large public university systems and K-12 districts
  • Ability to interact with C-level executives and SLED leadership with excellent communication skills
  • Differentiate and work at strategic and tactical levels simultaneously
  • Cross-functional influence, well-developed relationship-building skills, willingness to lead initiatives across organizations and structure new opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial with high energy, dedication
