Requirements

Reports to the Global Diagnostics & BioDevices Category Platform Leader
Leads procurement activities for Raw-Materials & Packaging at the Diagnostics & BioDevices site in Union City, California
Acts as part of the Site Leadership team
Generates and updates cost reduction plans and budgets in collaboration with Site Management and Category Managers
Ensures execution of cost reduction initiatives to meet or exceed budget
Manages contract creation, governance, and supplier relationship lifecycle
Develops and executes strategic plans for sub-categories within global spend
Monitors supplier performance and addresses issues to ensure supply continuity
Supports resolution of supplier quality issues and audit findings
Qualifies new suppliers per internal Change Control procedures
Ensures compliance with GSS policies, GMP, site, and government policies
Mentors procurement professionals
Maintains strong relationships with site stakeholders (Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering/Technology, Finance, etc.)
Updates pricing via Purchase Information Records (PIRs) and supplier info in corporate systems per regulatory standards
Participates in supplier quality audits
Works with internal stakeholders to develop strategic supply plans mitigating risks

Responsibilities

Drives site initiatives to reduce costs of purchased goods and services
Owns and is accountable for site budget for direct materials, including standard costs and Purchase Price Variance delivery
Provides input into category strategies and rolls out central agreements impacting site costs
Defines and executes sustainable Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) for cost reduction
Prioritizes and delivers improvements in Direct Materials cost reduction
Manages all aspects of costs, including continuity of supply and risk mitigation
Implements effective metrics for supplier measurement and management (e.g., scorecards)
Ensures ethical procurement in conformance with Zoetis policies
Establishes tools for communication, monitoring progress, and compliance
Interprets, oversees, and assures implementation of corporate global policies, site guidelines, and manufacturing SOPs
Ensures uninterrupted supply of quality materials and services in a cost-effective manner
Contributes to developing and executing strategic plans for the Diagnostic platform
