Requirements

Candidates must possess a B.S. or higher degree in an engineering field and have 5 years of related experience, preferably with exposure to spacecraft systems, orbital mechanics, and simulation techniques. Expertise in common numerical programming environments such as Julia, NumPy/SciPy, or MATLAB is required, along with a proven track record of multidisciplinary modeling of physical systems and extensive experience running simulations associated with vehicle development. Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills are also necessary, as is a preference for fast-paced, dynamic work environments. Spacecraft experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Simulation Engineer will model physics across various domains and fidelities, integrate the simulation with flight software and hardware, and help design and implement a Digital Twin system. They will demonstrate successful patterns for using the simulation to answer questions, lower the barrier to entry for new users, and develop tools for large, cloud-based simulation runs and visualization. The role involves owning different analyses for spacecraft, understanding user needs, and making development plans according to priority and program schedules.

Muon Space

Designs and operates satellite constellations

About Muon Space

Muon Space designs, deploys, and operates satellite constellations to provide Earth Intelligence that helps protect people, the climate, and ecosystems. Their services include creating mission strategies, building satellite systems, and managing these systems using their own AI automation technology. This approach allows them to deliver high performance and reliability while keeping costs low and speeding up satellite launches. Unlike many competitors, Muon Space focuses on understanding and solving their clients' specific needs rather than just selling satellite products. They operate on a pay-as-you-go model, which includes the development and operation of satellite constellations and the data generated from them. The team at Muon Space has significant experience from leading organizations like NASA, Google, and SpaceX, which enhances their capability to deliver valuable insights to clients in areas such as climate change, security, and resource management.
