Requirements

  • Ability to work 2nd Shift schedule (3:00 PM - 1:30 AM) with days off Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback
  • Experience in production planning, shift management, and holding teams accountable for output, efficiency, safety, and food safety
  • Problem-solving abilities to minimize downtime, adjust plans for issues like staffing or quality, and handle cross-functional issues
  • Effective communication skills for handoffs, setting goals, huddles, and sharing plans with other departments
  • Knowledge of safety standards, food safety (FSQA), inventory management, and production data accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Create effective shift-level production plans from weekly targets, including unfinished activities, and conduct daily handoffs with incoming Shift Manager
  • Communicate shift production plans, set clear goals for supervisors, and adjust plans based on quality issues, shorts, or staffing
  • Minimize downtime by monitoring production, spotting issues proactively, holding supervisors accountable for documentation, and problem-solving
  • Track progress against production plan, ensure targets are met, and own safety, on-time in full shipments, and meals/hour
  • Assign tasks to Gatekeepers for data accuracy, inventory counts, and cooler/freezer organization
  • Attend cross-department huddles to relay goals/messages and proactively share plans with FSQA and Warehouse managers
  • Collaborate with FSQA/Warehouse to resolve cross-functional issues following standard processes (e.g., shorts callouts, investigations, rejections)
  • Ensure performance reviews (own and team's) are completed on-time with appropriate documentation
  • Hold team members to high expectations, ensure right people in right roles, and partner with HR on underperformers
  • Solicit feedback from other leaders on team performance and conduct quarterly performance reviews for production supervisors with prompt feedback
  • Model strong people leadership skills to maintain team positivity and strength
  • Make production, safety, and food safety decisions in absence of department head and escalate high-impact events
