Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of electricity
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals including customers, inspectors, superintendents, coworkers, and employees
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • A certificate or degree from an accredited apprenticeship program with three years of experience or a 4-year degree in construction management or related field
  • Appropriate hand tools
  • Able and willing to work some evening and weekend hours as well as within the emergency on call rotation
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and electrical currents
  • Routine lifting of objects up to 50 pounds (drills, conduit benders, pipe threaders, cable pullers, and other equipment related to the electrical trade)
  • Subject to climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and work at heights above 30 feet
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling for periods of time
