We’re a consulting-led digital agency seeking a commercially-minded, independent SEO Director to lead a growing US portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands-on technical and strategic SEO, taking full ownership of key accounts and becoming the go-to for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Lead and grow client relationships, acting as the most senior client contact.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute SEO strategies aligned with client goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with delivery teams across SEO, Paid Media, PR, and Analytics to ensure cohesive service.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor talent as the team expands.
  • Budget & Project Management: Handle budgets, forecasting, resourcing, and internal project management.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare weekly and monthly reporting, reviews, and QBRs.
  • Business Development: Spot opportunities to grow accounts or win new business.
  • US Growth Strategy: Collaborate on US growth strategy, including occasional pitches and proposals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 5-7 years of SEO experience, including time in agency environments.
  • Client Management: Experience managing enterprise-level clients and complex briefs.
  • Technical SEO: Confidence in technical SEO, though not solely reliant on it.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills – ability to get things done.
  • Remote Work: Ability to operate independently and manage clients remotely with minimal oversight.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to present and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
