Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in relevant field with 2+ years of experience
Design experience including exposure to the design and manufacturing of cable assemblies, PCBs, power distribution, embedded software, and electro-mechanical assemblies
Expertise in Analog, Digital, Control, and Microcontroller-centered Electrical design
Experience using OrCAD design and layout
Experience in Simulation and timing analysis
Working knowledge of grounding and noise reduction techniques as well as EMI and RFI control
Demonstrated knowledge and application of manufacturing testing systems including in-circuit and functional testing
Design for manufacturing experience: Ease of assembly, Cost of Goods, second sourcing
Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally to support VAVE programs, including instrument system cost reduction, product design changes due to End of Life (EOL), and quality-based product enhancements for existing commercialized products
Provide technical leadership in design projects for multiple electrical systems/sub-systems through phases of investigation, definition, design, development, qualification, and manufacturing transfer
Identify product requirements and conduct technical investigation and feasibility studies to support project metrics definition
Detail design circuit boards and sub-systems using CAD/CAE tools
Design and analyze electrical systems to achieve product specifications, including microcontroller design, analog design and frequency domain analysis, discrete digital design, and programmable logic design
Perform circuit debug, function testing, and support system integrated testing
Transfer designs to production and solve related technical issues
Conduct root cause investigations and failure analyses to solve reliability and performance issues on legacy products
Create all required documentation to support design change verification and adherence to regulatory requirements
Provide technical support to production and strategic sourcing teams
Organize and actively participate in design reviews and project reviews
Work collaboratively across engineering disciplines to ensure consistency of common technologies
