Senior Test Engineer

Position Overview

Wilcore is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join the My HealtheVet backend team. This role will be instrumental in managing, expanding, and overseeing our growing portfolio of federal contracts, ensuring the reliability, performance, and accuracy of critical APIs and data services that power Veteran-facing health applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute automated and manual tests for backend services.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to support secure and compliant releases.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience testing RESTful APIs, including functional, regression, and load testing.
  • Strong skills in test automation tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, Karate, or Cypress with API focus).
  • Familiarity with backend systems and microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of data validation, including SQL and data pipelines.
  • Understanding of FHIR/HL7 standards or healthcare data structures (a plus).
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
  • Ability to write clear test cases and documentation.
  • Knowledge of VA systems, Section 508 compliance, or Veteran-facing health portals is a strong bonus.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically.
  • Must be able to attain a low-level security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Compensation

  • United States Wage Range: $100,000 – $125,000
  • Actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level, in alignment with state legal requirements.
