Requirements

Candidates should have experience leveraging AI in work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, along with an understanding of content development lifecycles and processes. A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical communication is required, demonstrated through samples of prior technical writing work. Experience authoring in DITA or another XML-based structured authoring architecture and the ability to independently plan, create, and deliver documentation in a fast-paced, globally distributed software development environment are essential. Eagerness to demonstrate leadership by mentoring other writers, adapting to changing priorities, and helping cross-functional teams collaborate effectively is also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Writer will work closely with engineering and product management to plan, create, and maintain user-focused technical documentation for multiple product features or applications, aligning with an established content strategy. They will provide input to shape future content strategy for the product or business unit supported and contribute to the evolution of ServiceNow’s content development processes, DITA-based information model, and writing style and standards. The role also involves developing a strong understanding of the ServiceNow product ecosystem and expert knowledge of the specific product area and user base supported.
