Requirements

Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and control system communication aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including conveyor systems, sortation, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)
Ability to use diagnostic software and tools to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to building automation
Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance processes, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and restoring equipment to service
Knowledge of material flow optimization, system controls logic, and effective troubleshooting techniques
Ability to conduct technical interviews, evaluate technical skills of candidates, train and coach internal technicians, and support training plan development
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures (e.g., Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash) and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe work environment
Self-starter capable of inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, training, and coaching across various resources and scenarios
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure

Responsibilities

Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance as a key technical subject matter expert
Proactively monitor and maintain building systems and the overall health of material handling equipment
Use preventive and predictive maintenance processes, rapidly troubleshoot breakdowns, and restore equipment to service
Work with engineers and operational partners to optimize performance and flow of material handling equipment
Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
Serve as escalated support resource during downtime events, implementing root cause analysis, processes, and training procedures
Facilitate and train effective troubleshooting techniques
Conduct technical interviews for technician candidates and evaluate their skills
Train and coach internal technicians, support training plan development, and follow up on progress
Eliminate potential equipment safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment
