Senior Systems Administrator

Essential Functions

• Provide technical support for the Nextgen EHR platform, including triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with clinical and operations staff to understand workflows and translate requirements into system configurations.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Nextgen EHR processes and configurations.
• Implement and manage system updates, patches, and upgrades for the Nextgen EHR platform.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for optimization.
• Enforce security policies and best practices within the Nextgen EHR environment.
• Provide general IT support, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or IT support.
• 3+ years of experience working with the Nextgen EHR platform.
• Strong understanding of healthcare IT infrastructure and security standards (HIPAA).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.

Preferred:

• Nextgen Certified Professional or similar Nextgen certification.
• Experience with database management and SQL.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with network protocols and security.
• Experience with IT project management methodologies.

Licenses:

• Nextgen Certified Professional or similar Nextgen certification.
