Requirements

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience developing in C++ and Python, along with 2+ years of prior experience as a Technical Lead. A solid understanding of high-performance real-time simulation pipelines is essential, as is project management experience in large teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Bonus qualifications include experience with sensor calibration for cameras, lidar, and/or radar, as well as experience in verification and validation for autonomous systems and prior work in developing autonomy in autonomous vehicles or robotics.

Responsibilities

The Senior/Staff Software Engineer will design, implement, and validate 3D sensor simulation subsystems for AV HIL and cloud simulation platforms. They will collaborate with HIL, Hardware, and Synthetic Data teams to develop novel real-time applications and optimize the performance and realism of 3D sensor simulations. The engineer will partner with Sim V&V engineers to enhance metrics related to sensor fidelity and AV safety reports. Additionally, they will lead 3D simulation engineers, establish best practices for improving trustability and test coverage of HIL simulation use cases, and participate in code reviews, design reviews, and roadmap planning across various cross-team projects.
