Requirements

Candidates should possess 12+ years of software engineering experience, along with experience in load testing or capacity planning at an organization serving millions of users with uneven or seasonal traffic. They must have extensive experience in designing and implementing cluster management and load testing at scale, and a successful track record leading and delivering complex engineering infrastructure projects. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with senior staff engineers and architects across multiple teams, and possess exceptional leadership skills including mentoring high-potential engineers.

Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Software Engineer will set the technical strategy for the next generation of capacity planning and load testing capabilities and practices at Affirm, collaborating with the broader engineering organization to understand service load and develop and rollout next generation capacity models and load testing frameworks. They will champion innovative, scalable, and delightful solutions, promote a culture of innovation, drive evaluation and development of new technologies, and actively research and present ideas. Additionally, they will convey a clear vision, influence senior leadership, and lead fellow engineers to achieve impactful results, while also being detail-oriented and fully immersed in day-to-day execution and delivery.
