Requirements

Candidates must have a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field and at least 15 years of software engineering experience, including 7 years building large-scale distributed systems. Deep expertise in distributed systems design, soft real-time processing, and scalable architectures is required, along with proficiency in Kotlin, Go, Java, or similar languages for backend development. Experience with event-driven architectures, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), and microservices architecture is essential, as well as strong understanding of system reliability and operational concerns.

Responsibilities

The Senior Staff/Principal Software Engineer will architect and evolve Product Software's distributed systems to support scaling autonomous fleet operations. They will drive technical strategy and make key architectural decisions for the fleet management platform, lead the design and implementation of high-availability, real-time scheduling and dispatch systems, and partner with product, operations, and other engineering teams to define the technical roadmap. Additionally, they will mentor and provide technical leadership to a team of senior engineers, establish best practices for system reliability and performance, and drive cross-team initiatives to integrate Product Software with vehicle systems, customer apps, and operations tools.
