Requirements

Candidates should have a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 7 years of experience. Experience writing performance-critical production code in C++ is required, along with a demonstrated ability to create real-time motion planning algorithms. A solid understanding of configuration spaces and various planning techniques such as A*, D*, and RRTs is necessary. Extensive experience with programming and algorithm design, as well as strong mathematical and geometrical skills, is essential. Experience leading small projects or teams is also required. Bonus qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science or a related field and experience with autonomous robots or Telerobotics, as well as familiarity with CUDA, Protobuf, or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

The Senior/Staff Motion Planning Engineer will write on-vehicle C++ code that integrates guidance provided by remote operators into the autonomous planner stack. They will collaborate with fellow Planner engineers and represent TeleGuidance on horizontal teams. The role involves designing and implementing new tools and features for remote operators to assist vehicles in navigating complex urban driving environments. The engineer will work with QA to develop a test plan for new features and will have the opportunity to contribute to various parts of the code base, including motion planning, trajectory optimization, and more. Collaboration with developers across the AI software organization is also a key responsibility.
