Requirements

  • Experience overseeing the entire lifecycle of import and export shipments, from pickup to warehouse receipt
  • Experience managing a network of 3PL logistics partners, customs clearance agents, compliance consultants, and suppliers
  • Working experience in commercial transactions, business environment, and internal/external customer collaboration
  • Knowledge of international logistics, different modes and categories of exports/imports, Incoterms, and Letter of Credit transactions
  • Experience with LCL, FCL, ODC, break bulk cargo movement, weight and volume calculations for optimum space use in sea and air shipments
  • Experience handling ports in US, EU, Asia, and India; understanding of airlines and shipping routes, associated risks, and mitigation plans
  • Thorough knowledge and practical experience of Import Export Policy Procedures, compliance, rules, and regulations
  • Understanding and experience with Medical Device Rules, BIS, EPR, LMPC, and diligent adherence to compliances
  • Expertise in customs clearance, supervising/coordinating operational activities (in-house/outsourced), product classification, duty structures, and regulatory changes
  • Experience liaising with government officials (Customs, DGFT, Ministries), CHA, freight forwarders
  • ATA Carnet management experience for customer demos/trials, including permissions, imports, returns, and archiving
  • Proficiency in dispute resolution, addressing customs queries, attending hearings, and building relationships with regulatory authorities
  • Proven expertise in Customs, Import/Export, Logistics, Shipping, Transportation, Warehouse Management, and Customer Relationship Management
  • Well-versed in customs clearance, international Trade Operations, and Multi-Modal Transport

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Central & Regional Logistics & Order Management teams to ensure adherence to logistics processes, shipments consolidation, shipping documents accuracy, and supplier regulatory compliance (BIS, MD licenses, Labelling etc.)
  • Coordinate with India Planning team for shipment processing based on orders with 100% compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal & Compliance, Planning, Regulatory & Quality, Tax Trade compliance, Sourcing & Supply Chain) to align operations and distribution strategy with business priorities
  • Manage freight and transportation to optimize transport mode, cost, and sustainability
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to track logistics cost performance, service levels, and process compliance
  • Follow up and monitor efficient operations for international/local land transport services and safe product delivery
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities to achieve efficiency without compromising service levels
  • Supervise and coordinate customs clearance operational activities for customers and internal requirements (demos, trials), focusing on compliant execution
  • Liaise with government officials and agencies for regulatory matters
  • Manage ATA Carnet shipments for customer demos/trials, ensuring permissions, imports, returns, and archiving
  • Address routine customs queries, attend personal hearings, and build relationships with customs officials and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure alignment and application of required licenses/approvals, follow up for timely issuance, optimize utilization, track status, and escalate delays
