Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Enterprise Solutions Engineering team. Solutions Engineers are in-house, customer-facing product experts who drive Grafana Labs' worldwide growth by educating potential and existing customers to ensure their success. We share our technical and product expertise through demos, hands-on enablement, presentations, technical evaluations, and ongoing customer interaction. We also collaborate closely with our Sales team and Japanese sales partners to qualify and close opportunities. The Solutions Engineering team serves as a primary communication channel from customers to our Product Management and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Grafana value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
• Own the technical engagement with customers, leveraging advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility to close high-velocity opportunities.
• Deliver product and technical presentations to potential and existing customers.
• Proactively communicate with customers and internal teams to provide a feedback loop on our products and the competitive landscape.
• Drive product conversations based on identified customer needs and problems.
• Collaborate with the team to enhance documentation, write blog posts, record videos, contribute knowledge base articles, and create other public and internal enablement materials.

Requirements

• Located in or near Tokyo, Japan.
• 3-5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, ideally with Open Source technologies or in the Metrics/Monitoring space.
• Openness to various and complex assignments, requiring strong judgment, collaboration, and leadership.
• First-class written and oral communication skills for collaboration with remote-first internal teams and worldwide customers.
• Ability to skillfully articulate our value proposition and the technical advantages of our products.
• A passion for solving technical challenges and a drive to bring creative solutions to customers.
• A technical mindset and a desire for continuous technical growth.
• Great candidates may include recent graduates of coding bootcamps or individuals with previous post-sales or engineering experience. We value unique experiences and skill sets.
• Fluent Japanese and proficient English. Other regional languages are advantageous.
