Sr. Simulation & Game Engine Engineer (Robotics)
Serve RoboticsFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years), Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering, Applied Math, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience in building physics-based simulation software or real-time graphics/robotics systems is required, along with strong proficiency in C++ and Python. A solid foundation in numerical methods, linear algebra, and continuum mechanics relevant to deformable bodies is essential. Hands-on experience delivering production-quality features, including profiling, debugging, testing, and shipping products that meet QA standards, is necessary. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate research prototypes into maintainable, documented components, are also required.
The Senior Software Engineer will design and implement high-performance soft-tissue simulation modules for Isaac for Healthcare, focusing on real-time and near real-time use cases. They will develop and integrate state-of-the-art algorithms, including FEM and MPM variants, building upon the Newton physics simulation engine and evaluating trade-offs for surgical interactions. Responsibilities include prototyping and productizing GPU-accelerated kernels and optimized C++ backends with Python bindings, as well as prototyping workflows with deep-learning frameworks for Physics AI models. The role involves integrating simulation components with Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab for robotics/RL training and data generation, collaborating with other teams to translate clinical requirements into simulation features, and building examples, documentation, and tutorials. Additionally, the engineer will mentor junior engineers and work with external partners to validate models against experimental or clinical data.
Designs GPUs and AI computing solutions
NVIDIA designs and manufactures graphics processing units (GPUs) and system on a chip units (SoCs) for various markets, including gaming, professional visualization, data centers, and automotive. Their products include GPUs tailored for gaming and professional use, as well as platforms for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) that cater to developers, data scientists, and IT administrators. NVIDIA generates revenue through the sale of hardware, software solutions, and cloud-based services, such as NVIDIA CloudXR and NGC, which enhance experiences in AI, machine learning, and computer vision. What sets NVIDIA apart from competitors is its strong focus on research and development, allowing it to maintain a leadership position in a competitive market. The company's goal is to drive innovation and provide advanced solutions that meet the needs of a diverse clientele, including gamers, researchers, and enterprises.
