Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, especially in micro-services applications
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Solid experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation
  • Proficient with reactive programming in Java with frameworks like Micronaut or SpringBoot and micro-services architecture
  • Some experience with Lucene based search engines like Apache Solr or Elasticsearch
  • Expertise in development languages and technical stack including AWS Cloud (services: Lambda, S3, RDS, Redshift, EventBridge, SES, SNS), NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Redis, MongoDB), deployment infrastructures (Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD), and Java J2EE (version >= 17)
  • Exceptional problem-solver with experience in leading teams, including identifying, researching, and coordinating resources to troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as part of a SCRUM squad team to develop cutting-edge legal search engine product
  • Ensure technical consistency and overall code quality and maintainability; co-create technical components with the architects of the product
  • Define, coordinate, and provide direct input to project plans
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components
  • Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews; resolve technical issues as necessary
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and follow global RELX technical strategy
  • Mentor more junior members of the team
  • Undertake difficult research, design, and software development assignments
  • Provide direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the setup, development, and tuning of a legal search platform
  • Perform architecture design across multiple components
  • Work with others to talk to users and the Product team to translate their requests into solutions
