Candidates should have a strong passion for making developers highly productive and at least 7 years of industry experience in designing and building distributed data systems. A track record of technical leadership is essential, along with experience in enterprise-grade Continuous Integration for cloud-based distributed systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems, are required. Fluency in Java, C++, Python, or Go is necessary, as well as the ability to work in a team environment and mentor junior engineers. Candidates should possess a strategic mindset and excellent interpersonal communication skills, along with outstanding written and oral English language skills. On-site work at the San Mateo, CA office is required.
The Senior Software Engineer will play a central role in setting the technical standard for and delivering the Continuous Integration service that powers Snowflake's repositories. They will collaborate with product managers to develop quarterly and long-term roadmaps for the team, ensuring that current customer needs are met while staying ahead of technological trends. The engineer will help evolve the developer infrastructure and tooling to be elastic, large-scale, and highly performant, while driving clarity on strategy and execution.
