Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with large-scale microservice application development
  • Experience with decomposing monolithic applications
  • Expert knowledge of multiple datastore technologies including both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with Kafka, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, and K8s
  • A ship-often mindset and ability to break down requirements into components that can be released rapidly

Responsibilities

  • Help design and implement backend services (including microservices, datastores, APIs, and event streams) that will support next-generation listings, inventory, and price points systems
  • Ensure that backend systems are highly performant and scalable to accommodate an ever-growing amount of data and load
  • Work closely with internal teams integrating with backend systems and ship iterative improvements based on their requirements and feedback
  • Further decouple systems from an existing monolithic application
