Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in enterprise environments, focusing on reporting, analytics, and data-driven features such as data export and insights. Strong understanding of analytics fundamentals, including dimensional data modeling, data transformation, and data visualization best practices is required, alongside experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and cloud-based data warehousing (preferably Google BigQuery). Proficiency in server-side programming languages like Python, PHP, or Go, combined with solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) is also necessary, as is familiarity with streaming or near real-time data ingestion technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub).
The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services to support reporting, analytics, data export, and data-driven product features, collaborating closely with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver actionable insights and AI-powered features. They will design and implement well-structured APIs to integrate with internal and external BI tools, apply strong data modeling and transformation techniques, ensure data quality and compliance standards, participate in code reviews and architecture planning, provide mentorship to junior engineers, continuously research and experiment with new technologies, and contribute to agile development cycles.
