Candidates must have 8 or more years of software engineering experience and a BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 4 years of experience building backend systems in Java with Spring Boot and related Spring modules is required, along with proficiency in Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, and REST API design principles. Experience designing databases and optimizing queries for SQL and NoSQL systems, implementing event-driven architectures with Kafka or RabbitMQ, and operating CI/CD pipelines and containerized services on a major cloud provider are also necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer will deliver backend features for Zoom Whiteboard and Tasks, owning services end-to-end. Responsibilities include designing and building Java microservices and secure REST APIs, implementing asynchronous messaging, deploying and operating containerized services via CI/CD in the cloud, and guiding performance tuning, monitoring, and observability. The role also involves writing automated tests, maintaining high code quality, and collaborating with product and frontend teams to shape APIs and system contracts.
