Requirements

  • U.S. citizen residing and working in the United States
  • Willing and able to obtain U.S. federal security clearance (minimum Public Trust position)
  • Strong software engineering practices with a pragmatic operations mindset
  • Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes for infrastructure automation
  • Experience with deployment packages such as Helm Charts and omnibus-gitlab
  • Proficiency in building and operating Dedicated GitLab instances integrated with cloud-native services (e.g., AWS, GCP)
  • Skills in developing tools for infrastructure-as-code workflows across multiple tenants
  • Knowledge of deploying and managing microservices on Kubernetes clusters at scale
  • Experience enhancing observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, ELK) for monitoring and incident response
  • Familiarity with cloud provider ecosystems (e.g., IAM, networking, storage)
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices
  • Ability to incorporate AI into daily workflows for efficiency, innovation, and impact

Responsibilities

  • Automate workflows across the full environment lifecycle—from provisioning new environments to daily operational tasks
  • Deploy features and updates safely and consistently
  • Maintain operational excellence across many production environments simultaneously
  • Design and code infrastructure automation that provisions and operates GitLab environments using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes
  • Create and maintain deployment packages for GitLab, such as Helm Charts and omnibus-gitlab
  • Build and operate Dedicated GitLab instances integrated with cloud-native services (e.g., AWS, GCP)
  • Develop tools to orchestrate infrastructure-as-code workflows across multiple tenants
  • Deploy and manage microservices on Kubernetes clusters at scale
  • Enhance GitLab’s observability stack (e.g., Prometheus, ELK) to support proactive monitoring and incident response
  • Integrate with and operate infrastructure in cloud provider ecosystems (e.g., IAM, networking, storage)
  • Champion and implement cloud security best practices across automated infrastructure
  • Engage with US Public Sector entities to ensure successful implementation of GitLab services to meet Federal and regulatory requirements
  • Build & Scale Multi-Tenant Infrastructure: Design and implement automation that provisions and manages hundreds of isolated GitLab environments using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes; manage complex state strategies and workspace configurations
  • Debug & Resolve Production Issues: Troubleshoot issues across Kubernetes clusters, cloud services, and GitLab apps—identifying root causes of failures
  • Keep user-facing services and production systems reliable, scalable, and efficient
  • Drive automation, reduce toil, and improve resilience across the platform
  • Uphold strict security and regulatory standards for government customers, including FedRAMP compliance
