Requirements

Technical leadership and mentorship skills to drive technical excellence, foster reliability culture, lead by example, set best practices for incident management, performance optimization, and automation

Expertise in establishing technical credibility, shaping architectural decisions, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, reliable systems
Experience implementing and maintaining resilient cloud architectures, monitoring system performance, and proactively identifying/resolving bottlenecks or points of failure
Proficiency in incident management, including primary on-call rotation, cultivating technical curiosity, growth mindset, and blameless postmortem culture
Skills in continuously optimizing on-call processes for sustainability and efficiency
Expertise in developing and maintaining automation scripts, tools, and processes for system deployment, monitoring, and management
Ability to optimize cloud infrastructure and applications for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
Experience collaborating with security engineers to implement best practices and ensure compliance with security standards and policies
Proficiency in designing and configuring advanced monitoring systems, setting up alerts, responding proactively to issues, and creating/maintaining dashboards and playbooks for production on-call
Skills in software development consultation

Responsibilities

Play a key role in driving technical excellence and fostering a culture of reliability across engineering teams
Lead by example, setting best practices for incident management, performance optimization, and automation
Influence best practices, drive cross-team collaborations, and contribute to execution of key objectives in alignment with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners
Establish strong technical credibility, shape architectural decisions, and ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable systems
Implement and maintain resilient cloud architectures
Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or points of failure to ensure high availability
Participate in primary on-call rotation
Cultivate technical curiosity, growth mindset, and a blameless postmortem culture within the team
Continuously optimize the on-call process for sustainability and efficiency
Develop and maintain automation scripts, tools, and processes to streamline system deployment, monitoring, and management tasks
Optimize cloud infrastructure and applications for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
