Requirements

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in structure design
  • 6+ years CAD experience creating detailed models (Siemens NX is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage CAD designs of the components, as well as the BOM structure
  • Build up and analyze FE Models of Node™-based vehicle structures applications including validation using hand calculations and optimization
  • Present design summary/reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers or external parties
  • Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for automotive structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly
  • Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities
  • Maintain technical documentation, including best practices and lesson learned
  • Support vehicle builds and product development testing and troubleshooting
  • Lead and influence peers on the team to achieve product requirements
  • Mentor and assist less experienced team members
  • Manage CAD models, FEA models and BOM’s for individual Nodes™ as well as full structures
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including system level DFMEA and DVP
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing/design capabilities and limitations and to ensure proposed design changes can be efficiently produced and assembled
  • Act as technical liaison between Divergent and its customers, to ensure product requirements are concurred, tracked and achieved
  • Lead and influence internal engineers in their product development work
