Requirements

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or similar
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in engineering design, R&D, or product development
Experience drafting or contributing to patent applications and invention disclosures
Familiarity with international patent filing processes (preferred)
Mastering the Dutch and English language
Strong analytical skills and ability to suggest out-of-the-box solutions
Strong sense of ownership
Strong technical writing expertise to support development, documentation, and protection of innovative technologies
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear technical documentation

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, analyses, troubleshoots, and provides technical skills during research and/or product development
Designs studies to investigate specific life science questions within field of expertise
May be involved in product research and development and/or clinical trials
Translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products
Improves product performance and manufacturability by designing, calculating, modelling, prototyping, and testing
Bridges engineering design and intellectual property (IP) strategy to ensure innovations are effectively captured and protected
Works in a multi-disciplinary team on design, development, and testing of surgical instruments and related manufacturing processes
