Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation (or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or a closely related field plus six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation)
  • Evaluate business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment (4 years)
  • Experience with analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of products and solution alternatives (4 years)
  • Use technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities (4 years)
  • Develop project plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share (4 years)
  • Develop detailed technical project delivery plans including backend testing for production releases and hotfixes (4 years)
  • Work closely with product development to create products and validate early product definitions with customers (4 years)

Responsibilities

  • Design and drive data-driven product solution initiatives with product managers, engineers, user researchers, designers, and analytics teams
  • Manage the technical development of features for the listing platform and selling APIs at eBay
  • Research emerging technologies to create innovative modernization-related aspects of the platform including solutions to build new services (working with engineering) focusing on metrics like platform efficiency, scalability, API modernization, etc
  • Analyze market-specific nuances, and identify search algorithmic improvements to address unique search-specific needs
  • Translate product strategy into clear and concise specifications and development road map, make functional and user interface design tradeoffs, handle product launches, and lead product successes post-launch
  • Facilitate data-driven product decisions with a balance of near-term deliverables and longer-term investment in technology platforms
  • Communicate strategies and trade-offs to customer solutions with senior leaders and development teams
  • Periodically evaluate individual and team performance and ensure delivery of product solutions within project timelines
  • Drive A/B testing to identify launch candidates that improve organizational goals
