Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design, textile science or related field (two years’ additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum 5 years development experience in the apparel industry, including the apparel development process from inception through production (construction, materials, costing, manufacturing, and quality)
  • Expertise in project management, construction, textiles, trims, and graphics
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions
  • Understanding of product specs and construction standards instructions
  • Experience working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator; familiarity with CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Understand the full scope of product creation from design concept to production
  • Participate in triad discussions and provide technical recommendations
  • Create and update development documentation for factory partners, including Bill of Materials
  • Participate in proto review sessions and comment on quality, craftsmanship, and manufacturing feasibility of assigned styles
  • Raise awareness of potential quality or manufacturing risks and partner with triad and Product Integrity team to resolve
  • Track prototypes for assigned styles, meet calendar target dates
  • Attend meetings related to product development and communicate progress and challenges to the team
  • Manage assigned styles collaboratively with cross-functional partners (Design, Technical Design, Product Management, Materials, Quality, Color, factory partners) to bring creative solutions and ensure product meets or exceeds end use
  • Review protos and samples, shepherd styles through creation process while meeting gates and dates for on-time production
  • Report to the Jordan PCC senior manager
