Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in privacy program management, compliance, or related field at a tech company
- Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, product, and compliance
- Knowledge of global privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, with COPPA experience being a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical privacy concepts for diverse audiences
- Strong analytical mindset with experience defining and tracking program metrics
- Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties)
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of global privacy requirements and audit existing practices to identify compliance gaps
- Manage privacy project implementation with clear priorities, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring effective stakeholder communication to keep critical initiatives on track
- Drive cross-functional coordination with Data Governance, Policy, and Compliance teams to ensure aligned privacy initiatives across Discord
- Define, track, and socialize metrics that demonstrate both risk reduction and business enablement, translating complex privacy concepts into actionable insights
- Partner with our privacy engineering team to design and improve our privacy compliance program with a focus on automation, efficiency, and long-term scalability
