Requirements

Experience as a Senior / Principal Product Designer, with ability to own design strategy and execution for critical product areas
Skills in designing clear, actionable, and defensible user experiences in high-stakes environments (e.g., balancing early detection with reducing false positives)
Proficiency in Figma for interaction, information, and visual design; prototyping and coding skills are a plus
Ability to conduct user research with stakeholders like dispatchers and fire agencies
Strong collaboration skills with PMs, engineers, legal, executives, and cross-functional teams
Comfort translating complex user needs into flows, information architecture, and notification logic systems

Responsibilities

Lead design strategy and execution for the Alerts squad as the first dedicated design leader
Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, legal, and executives to define and deliver end-to-end customer experiences
Translate complex user needs into clear flows, information architecture, and notification logic systems that balance early detection with reducing false positives
Conduct user research with dispatchers, fire agencies, and other stakeholders to inform design decisions and reduce alert fatigue
Design in Figma across interaction, information, and visual design; create prototypes (coding skills a plus)
Present and defend design work to executives, including the CEO, influencing product impact on public safety and climate resilience
