Requirements

+8 years of hands-on experience in a similar role/relevant field
Proven track record in developing software systems in applicable languages/frameworks (Node.js, Python, Go), and willingness to adopt the appropriate language to best complete tasks
Deep understanding of containerization, including how to create multi-stage Docker files, and able to demonstrate how to reduce build times
Experience developing or working with APIs to create integration between subsystems
Deep experience and understanding of modern DevSecOps platform technologies, specifically GitHub version control & CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
Clear curiosity-driven mindset, always eager to understand how something works and how it can be improved
Demonstrable skills in quickly identifying and addressing runtime issues with containerized applications on a Kubernetes platform
Strong knowledge of database systems, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

Build, maintain and drive the Internal Developer Platform (Backstage tool) that acts as the entry point to the Shared Capabilities function
Design, maintain, build and lead custom applications and tooling where necessary to facilitate the Azure Kubernetes platform
Utilize extensive skills as a Software Engineer to help upskill other Software Engineers to write effective code when running on a container platform
Stay on top of Azure platform capabilities that may be beneficial for writing large-scale applications and help other teams design such applications
Cross-skill into contributing to the lifecycle management of platform resources, including Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and supported Azure services (developing and maintaining Terraform modules, GitHub pipelines and ArgoCD GitOps processes)
Drive automation of operational processes to improve platform efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Provide Level 3 software engineering support for application issues, incident response, and troubleshooting complex problems related to applications running on the Kubernetes platform
Debug complex software and hardware interactions
Collaborate with internal and external support teams as needed
Own the maintenance of platform documentation and contribute to process improvement for change management and access controls
