Position Overview
FutureFit AI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Platform Team. This role is crucial for building the core infrastructure of our platform, focusing on designing intelligent, scalable systems that automate manual tasks, enable seamless integrations, and enhance team efficiency. You will be instrumental in shaping how our team operates, delivers value, and supports our users.
Your Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement smart, scalable systems to eliminate manual work.
- Develop seamless integrations to improve platform functionality.
- Establish robust systems to increase team velocity and reduce friction.
- Make a significant impact on daily operations, product delivery, and user support.
Your 30/60/90 Day Plan
First 30 Days: Learn and Integrate
- Build relationships with your immediate team and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Participate in shadowing sessions and onboarding activities.
- Gain hands-on experience with critical tools, systems, and workflows for our case management platform.
- Address issues manually within our technical support systems.
- Identify key areas for improvement and outline plans for impactful changes.
Days 31–60: Own and Execute
- Take ownership of toil reduction and support system automation, aiming for sustainable systems manageable by non-technical personnel.
- Create clear technical requirements for vendor partners and manage acceptance testing.
- Proactively surface learnings, blockers, and opportunities to inform future planning.
- Prioritize work based on impact and effort.
Days 61–90: Lead and Amplify
- Drive a self-initiated project aligned with strategic goals of eliminating technical resources for manual support.
- Monitor the impact of support system improvements and involve non-technical counterparts in early feature development.
- Participate in customer calls to clarify complex workflows and technical touchpoints.
Requirements & Skills
Technical Skills:
- Deep experience designing and automating workflows across cloud-based systems (AWS preferred).
- Proficiency with event-driven architectures using tools like AWS EventBridge, SQS, Lambda, or Kafka.
- Strong scripting and backend development skills (TypeScript) for automating operational and support processes.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and automating data flows.
- Knowledge of queueing, retries, and idempotency patterns for resilient automation.
- Strong debugging and systems-thinking abilities to identify and resolve process bottlenecks.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively across support, customer success, and engineering teams.
Experience:
- 5–8+ years in platform, DevOps, or backend roles focused on operational tooling and workflow automation.
- Proven experience leading initiatives to reduce manual support tasks through internal tools, automation, or self-serve systems.
- Experience integrating with third-party legacy systems using asynchronous workloads.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining serverless or event-driven architectures.
- Experience implementing logging, alerting, and observability for support pipelines and integrations.
- Experience working in environments with high support loads or strict SLAs where reliability is paramount.
