Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including end-to-end management of multi-state U.S. payrolls
  • Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state payroll laws, taxation, and compliance
  • Experience with ADP and Smart Compliance
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, scaling environment

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute end-to-end North American payroll processing
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax, wage, and hour laws
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations, Accounting, and Finance
  • Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger entries; support audits and month-end close activities
  • Manage relationships with external payroll and tax vendors
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, including tax filings, funding, and reconciliation documentation
  • Partner with People Operations to ensure accurate and timely updates for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, automation, and scalability
  • Assist with year-end activities, including W-2s, bonus processing, and compliance reporting
