Requirements

  • 7+ years of paralegal experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, political science, or related fields
  • Paralegal certificate

Responsibilities

  • Assist with corporate governance, maintaining corporate records, supporting capital markets and M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepare affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence
  • Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements
  • Communicate with clients and other business partners to discuss details of various matters
  • Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents
  • Ensure all entities’ compliance with registration and authority requirements in all states
  • Maintain legal compliance with all states, including timely filing of annual reports, renewals, and other necessary documents
  • Own the interface with Meriton’s registered agent, working on subpoenas and other filings
  • Support day-to-day administrative matters, including word processing, drafting correspondence/reports, and file maintenance
  • Complete other duties as assigned
