Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor health center Medical Directors, including supervising them, aligning priorities, providing feedback, supporting team management, communicating updates, mastering data-driven practices, reviewing quality dashboards, implementing improvement initiatives, and providing managed care guidance
  • Interview, hire, and retain providers throughout the region
  • Develop physician leadership in providers, building a pipeline of internal clinical leaders skilled in problem solving, communication, conflict resolution, value-based care, and collaboration
  • Support organizational strategy by providing input on market management and organization-wide projects, joining committees for Medical Management, Care Management, Quality Improvement, Utilization Management, Network Management, Health Plan Management, Documentation/Risk Adjustment, Clinical Compliance & Policy Development
  • Represent Oak Street Health to external partners (e.g., payers, providers), creating relationships and partnerships that support the mission and economics
  • Supervise the interdisciplinary Complex Care program as part of Population Health
  • Partner with the Regional Vice President to achieve operational and clinical excellence in hospital admissions, quality, patient satisfaction, clinician satisfaction, and medical cost
  • Provide feedback on the clinical model as a key thought partner
  • Report to the Executive Medical Director for the region
