Requirements

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, such as Mechanical or Electromechanical, or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (science or math fields) (nice to have)
4 years relevant experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or highly regulated industry (nice to have)
Experience in cannula and catheter dipping operations (nice to have)
Fixture design and development experience (nice to have)
Experience managing project timelines, budgets and resource allocation (nice to have)

Responsibilities

Research, plans, designs, verifies, validates, and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment and systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, and machines for production
Designs and implements manufacturing processes and test method validations, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling
Collaborate with cross-functional team to identify process improvement opportunities
Identify process improvement opportunities including new fixturing, equipment, and inspection solutions
Designs arrangement of machines within cleanroom facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
Manage project timelines and scope, communicating changes and challenges to key stakeholders
Sustain current production through day to day support
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
Assumes the role of technical project lead for complex assembly projects
Ensures processes and procedures follow regulations
Prepares engineering change orders and coordinates the implementation of changes including training production staff
Troubleshoots designs and processes when defects occur, investigating to determine root cause and implements effective containment and counter measures
