Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, such as Mechanical or Electromechanical, or bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (science or math fields) (nice to have)
  • 4 years relevant experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or highly regulated industry (nice to have)
  • Experience in cannula and catheter dipping operations (nice to have)
  • Fixture design and development experience (nice to have)
  • Experience managing project timelines, budgets and resource allocation (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Research, plans, designs, verifies, validates, and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment and systems, such as instruments, controls, robots, and machines for production
  • Designs and implements manufacturing processes and test method validations, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities including new fixturing, equipment, and inspection solutions
  • Designs arrangement of machines within cleanroom facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
  • Manage project timelines and scope, communicating changes and challenges to key stakeholders
  • Sustain current production through day to day support
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques
  • Assumes the role of technical project lead for complex assembly projects
  • Ensures processes and procedures follow regulations
  • Prepares engineering change orders and coordinates the implementation of changes including training production staff
  • Troubleshoots designs and processes when defects occur, investigating to determine root cause and implements effective containment and counter measures
