Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA or Master's in Tax being preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive indirect tax experience is required, including strong knowledge of U.S. sales tax and European VAT. Experience with tax automation systems such as Avalara or Vertex is necessary, and prior experience at a multinational corporation or Big 4 firm is strongly preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Indirect Tax will oversee U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax compliance, including returns, payments, and audits, ensuring proper taxability rules and nexus determinations. This role involves managing relationships with third-party sales tax software providers and monitoring tax law changes. Responsibilities also include managing European VAT registration, compliance, filings, and returns in partnership with international teams and local advisors, as well as advising on cross-border transactions and supporting European business initiatives. The position entails leading U.S. and international indirect tax audits, driving automation of indirect tax processes, and collaborating with Finance, IT, and Product teams on scalable tax solutions. Additionally, the Senior Manager will serve as the key tax contact for various internal teams, providing guidance on contracts, pricing, and new business models.
