Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Law, or related discipline
  • 7–10 years’ experience in assurance, audit, or compliance roles within financial services
  • Exposure to superannuation and investment management highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, ATO, and OAIC requirements
  • Experience with control testing methodologies and risk frameworks
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and drive continuous improvement
  • Experienced assurance professional with strong background in audit or risk and compliance, ideally within financial services
  • Thrive on stakeholder engagement and can confidently present to executive leadership and committees
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Line 2 assurance reviews across high-risk areas including Service, Administration & Support, Investment Operations, Product, Finance, Custody, People & Culture, and Sales & Distribution
  • Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls and recommend improvements
  • Engage with stakeholders through walkthroughs, evidence reviews, and analysis
  • Prepare reports with actionable insights for executive and board-level audiences
  • Present assurance outcomes to Audit Committees and governance forums
  • Track and monitor remediation actions and assurance trends
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure timely closure of findings
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to assess controls, identify improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct walkthroughs of processes and review evidence
  • Provide insights that strengthen Netwealth’s risk and compliance framework
