Candidates should possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in performance engineering and HPC, including relevant experience with parallel programming and at least one communication runtime such as MPI, NCCL, UCX, or NVSHMEM. Strong understanding of computer system architecture, HW-SW interactions, and operating systems principles is required, as well as proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python. Familiarity with containers, cloud provisioning, and scheduling tools is also desired.
The Senior HPC Performance Engineer will conduct in-depth performance characterization and analysis on large multi-GPU and multi-node clusters, evaluate proof-of-concepts, and perform trade-off analysis. They will triage and root-cause performance issues reported by customers, collect performance data, build tools and infrastructure for analysis, and collaborate with a dynamic team to contribute to the development of innovative technologies and help realize NVIDIA’s vision.
