Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related qualification
  • Minimum 5 years relevant Electronics Product cost optimization experience
  • Experience in design tools for Schematic Capture and PCB Layout
  • Experience in board and system level design verification and testing
  • Experience in managing prototype build from BOM creation to build change requests
  • Preferred: Experience in Functional Safety product development with IEC61508

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising durability, reliability, and performance of components used in products
  • Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance departments to understand product optimization goals
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead product cost reduction efforts with the team
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with component resiliency, including design modifications, material & supplier selection, and process improvements
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in component engineering, and work with SSO & Component Engineering to provide a stable and reliable supply of components
