Requirements

Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related qualification
Minimum 5 years relevant Electronics Product cost optimization experience
Experience in design tools for Schematic Capture and PCB Layout
Experience in board and system level design verification and testing
Experience in managing prototype build from BOM creation to build change requests
Preferred: Experience in Functional Safety product development with IEC61508

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising durability, reliability, and performance of components used in products
Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance departments to understand product optimization goals
Identify inefficiencies and lead product cost reduction efforts with the team
Experience with manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles
Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with component resiliency, including design modifications, material & supplier selection, and process improvements
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in component engineering, and work with SSO & Component Engineering to provide a stable and reliable supply of components
