Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a strong track record of driving operational efficiency and financial integration of acquired companies
  • Experience in TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) industry highly preferred, with exposure to international financial operations
  • Background in Big Four accounting firms or experience working within multinational finance teams is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations
  • Japanese (required); Chinese Mandarin (preferred) for Tencent HQ communication

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the finance liaison between Tencent and its subsidiaries, ensuring seamless communication and financial integration
  • Oversee annual budget preparation and quarterly rolling forecasts, analyzing subsidiary performance
  • Implement project-based solutions to analyze R&D efficiency and resource allocation to optimize financial strategies
  • Enhance financial reporting standards, balancing Tencent’s Group Reporting policies with subsidiary-specific needs and local compliance requirements
  • Build good relationships with local finance agents and banks, identify compliance risks, and cowork on mitigation plans
  • Provide finance support to Tencent Japan office in areas such as office operations, business travelling, etc.; provide insights to Tencent's headquarters to enhance efficiency
  • Leverage Tencent’s headquarters expertise to enhance internal controls, treasury management, credit control, tax compliance, and procurement efficiency across the subsidiaries
  • Provide financial leadership and support to subsidiary leadership teams, guiding financial decision-making and operational improvements
  • Additional managerial duties as necessary
