Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, with 8-12 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically within the aviation industry. Prior experience with managing medium to large-sized projects is required, alongside familiarity with power distribution systems and communication networks. Knowledge of lighting systems design and preparation of load analysis is also necessary, as is experience with preparing and documenting energy compliance calculations and forms. Proficiency in lighting software and the ability to prepare project construction documents and reports are essential.

Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and performing calculations for various lighting systems, including airfield lighting, navigational aids, and interior/exterior lighting. They will prepare drawings detailing system designs that meet client, airport, and FAA requirements, and also design power distribution systems and communication networks. The role involves selecting equipment and fixtures, coordinating work with other engineering disciplines, and advising management on quality, schedule, and budget variances. Furthermore, the engineer will prepare project construction documents and reports, and contribute to Energy compliance calculations and forms.
