Requirements

  • BSEE and 6+ years of relevant experience (including MSEE/PhD degrees with professional engineering experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional and product driven environment
  • Experience working in low-volume prototype environments, able to work on the floor with technicians during build events to identify issues, and rapidly iterate solutions
  • Strong experience with EE CAD tools such as Eagle, Altium, and/or OrCAD
  • Strong experience with lab tools such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and protocol analyzers
  • Strong experience with soldering, probing, and debugging
  • Experience designing low-level microcontrollers PCBs and IO circuitry
  • Experience with component selection and procurement
  • Experience with PCBA outsourcing and DFM
  • Strong communication skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about new technology
  • Able to support periodic domestic and international travel
  • Startup experience is a major plus

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the electrical technical specification, design, integration, and release of autonomous agriculture vehicle systems
  • Design schematics, board layouts, and wire harnesses for various systems such as battery management, power, I/O, lighting, actuators, sensors, and microcontrollers
  • Select components that are performant, cost-conscious, and available
  • Develop power, electrical, and thermal budgets and models
  • Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, design and implement corrective and preventative solutions
  • Create and execute test plans, analyze data and work with other teams on how to improve tested systems
  • Work closely with external partners to devise solutions that meet system goals around safety, performance, and cost
  • Facilitate technical discussions through all program phases with internal and cross-functional stakeholders and drive escalation where necessary
  • Coordinate with cross-functional vehicle development leads in engineering (ME, SW), supply chain, program management with the goal of driving alignment on program execution details, planning, and readiness
  • Work with program management to plan development schedules, builds, and resolve supply chain issues
