Requirements

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in Food Safety Microbiology, Food Toxicology, Food Science, and/or Food Compliance, ideally within large multinational corporations
  • Advanced degree preferred: PhD or Master’s in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • Proven ability to deliver operational efficiencies and strengthen global compliance programs using data and predictive analytics
  • Strategic and influential leadership with a track record of translating complex challenges into actionable solutions in dynamic environments
  • Credibility and trust-building skills, inspiring associates across the organization
  • Action-oriented and resourceful, with the ability to lead change through deep scientific expertise and a strong professional network

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution of food science and compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market trends
  • Develop and oversee food safety science and compliance programs, including product specifications, applicable risk assessments, and food product handling procedures
  • Lead and develop a team of food science and compliance professionals
  • Provide global leadership and support across multiple business units, ensuring consistency with Walmart’s Global Compliance & Ethics objectives
  • Evaluate and enhance food science and compliance programs to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders including members of merchandising, sourcing, operations, regulatory, and supply chain teams
  • Foster partnerships with research institutions, industry experts, and/or other stakeholders to stay ahead of food science innovation
