Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of experience in cloud servers, services, and software or equivalent sys admin experience. Experience in a 24x7 managed services environment, familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM systems, and expertise in Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS are required. Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration, scripting with CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Terraform templates, and experience with Azure native services like Policy, Active Directory, Lighthouse, and Monitor/Log Analytics are essential. Knowledge of Azure tools for cost, security, and compliance management, along with an understanding of sys admin concepts including virtualization, containers, encryption, networking, firewalls, and load balancers, is necessary. Experience with Azure deployments and migrations is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting client Microsoft Azure infrastructure, responding to escalations from the monitoring team, and performing proactive maintenance. This includes installing, configuring, and administering client systems in Azure, tuning cloud-based tools, and managing cost, security, and compliance. The role involves executing monthly maintenance tasks such as patching and verifying backups and disaster recovery, creating and maintaining documentation, and promoting best practices. Additionally, the engineer will participate in client discussions to review issues, discuss changes, and propose improvements, providing consultation and monthly reports on the client's cloud infrastructure.
