Overview of Opportunity
At Two Six Technologies, we build, deploy, and implement innovative products that solve the world’s most complex challenges today. Through unrivaled collaboration and unwavering trust, we push the boundaries of what’s possible to empower our team and support our customers in building a safer global future.
This is a role for a highly autonomous and driven Senior DevOps Engineer who thrives on ownership and working independently. We are looking for a true self-starter who doesn't wait for tasks but proactively identifies potential issues, improvements, and optimizations within our infrastructure. You will be expected to take full ownership of your domain, from discovery and design to implementation and long-term maintenance, with a relentless personal drive for ensuring the stability and performance of our production systems.
What You Will Do
- Take complete ownership of architecting, deploying, and managing our sophisticated AWS-based infrastructure, including services like EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, Fargate, Lambda, and SQS.
- Independently drive and own our entire infrastructure as code strategy, expertly using Terraform and Terragrunt to build and maintain a fully automated environment.
- Proactively identify and resolve system vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks before they impact production, demonstrating a powerful personal drive to improve the platform.
- Develop and maintain robust Ansible playbooks for advanced configuration management and automation, working independently to standardize and secure our systems.
- Serve as a key escalation point in an on-call rotation, demonstrating strong ownership during incident response and in conducting post-incident reviews to drive preventative measures.
- Manage and maintain the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to maintain deep visibility into system health, performance, and security.
- Define your own project priorities and manage deadlines based on business needs, demonstrating an exceptional level of self-management and initiative.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes (EKS).
What You Will Need: Core Attributes for Success
- Extreme Ownership & Self-Management: You must be a true self-starter, capable of defining your own tasks, managing your time, and delivering results without direct supervision. The ability to take complete ownership of a problem from start to finish is non-negotiable.
- Proactive & Independent Problem-Solver: A powerful personal drive to hunt for potential problems and inefficiencies. You don't just fix what's broken; you work independently to seek out opportunities to improve system resilience, performance, and security on your own initiative.
- Production-Obsessed Mindset: A deep and personal commitment to production environment reliability, uptime, and performance.
What You Will Need: Core Technical Expertise
- Infrastructure as Code: Deep, hands-on proficiency with Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Configuration Management: Extensive experience authoring and maintaining complex Ansible playbooks.
- Cloud Platform (AWS): Expert-level knowledge of AWS services for designing highly available and secure infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, Fargate, etc.).
- Kubernetes: Strong production experience running HA EKS environments.
- Monitoring & Logging: Experience with an observability stack using ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
What You Will Need: Additional Technical Skills
- Containerization and Orchestration: Deep expertise in Docker and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm.
- CI/CD and Automation: Extensive experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
