Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis (Analytical Thinking); ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
Effective Communication (noted as a requirement in the description)

Responsibilities

Translate electrical system requirements from L4 teams into appropriate battery module electrical system designs through electrical component and subsystem integration
Perform electrical system auditing, troubleshooting, validation, and issue resolution to ensure alignment to safety and regulatory standards and reliability expectations
Develop design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of products and components that satisfy customer needs and advance safety, quality, velocity, and cost
Participate in supplier selection and capabilities assessment
Monitor, explore, and test new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities
Construct and fabricate prototype equipment; oversee materials selection, process optimization and process yield, as well as reliability testing and failure analysis
Lead the development of battery module electrical systems
Provide direction, concepting, and consulting for new application investigations and guidance for the overall architecture and design of batteries within New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI)
Perform electrical analysis work, identify design problems, and resolve problems
Lead Battery module design for program and maintain commitments for key program deliverables
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers with the APQP process
Build relationships and leverage business unit and corporate battery system experts
Lead and document high voltage electrical system integration best practices and design guides
