Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis (Analytical Thinking); ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Effective Communication (noted as a requirement in the description)

Responsibilities

  • Translate electrical system requirements from L4 teams into appropriate battery module electrical system designs through electrical component and subsystem integration
  • Perform electrical system auditing, troubleshooting, validation, and issue resolution to ensure alignment to safety and regulatory standards and reliability expectations
  • Develop design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of products and components that satisfy customer needs and advance safety, quality, velocity, and cost
  • Participate in supplier selection and capabilities assessment
  • Monitor, explore, and test new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities
  • Construct and fabricate prototype equipment; oversee materials selection, process optimization and process yield, as well as reliability testing and failure analysis
  • Lead the development of battery module electrical systems
  • Provide direction, concepting, and consulting for new application investigations and guidance for the overall architecture and design of batteries within New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Perform electrical analysis work, identify design problems, and resolve problems
  • Lead Battery module design for program and maintain commitments for key program deliverables
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers with the APQP process
  • Build relationships and leverage business unit and corporate battery system experts
  • Lead and document high voltage electrical system integration best practices and design guides
